New inscribes to world logistics passport programme by Bahrain

The World Logistics programme is a global, private sector-led, action intended to ease the movement of business trade. Bahrain was joined to the World logistics programme, and they approved a Memorandum of Understanding with the Bahraini Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications. The Memorandum states that which brings another GCC member state into the Dubai-administered global freight loyalty plan as a gateway partner, thereby improving the Kingdom of Bahrain’s access to global markets and offering businesses direct benefits.

And this will be operating as an incentive-based loyalty programme that remunerates dealers and freight forwarders for high levels of trade by opening market access to new and existing trading routes.

By approving the MoU make strong trade ties between Bahrain and the UAE and demonstrate a strategic responsibility from the two signatories to implement the WLP.

The Bahraini Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications will work as a coordinating Partner, leading traders and freight forwarders onboard the WLP programme.

WLP participation also extends Bahrain’s access to global trade routes, providing increased international market opportunities by increasing the close trading relations between the two GCC countries.

Moreover, the participation in the WLP as a Gateway will allow Bahraini traders and freight forwarders the possibility to obtain a global network of benefits for more cost-effective and efficient cargo trade via the WLP Hub in Dubai.

And the fast-tracking of cargo movement, reducing administrative costs, advancing cargo information, and facilitating trade across borders are also included in the direct benefits. .

Bahrain’s Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications make the vision 2030 to enhance the movement of goods via land, sea, and air transport. And the government is responsible for the development and regulation of the Kingdom’s transportation and telecommunications infrastructure and systems.
